Attach your profile and start the interview
Open a chat with your Agent Profile
Keep the interview in one conversation. Start a new chat in the Project/Notebook holding your Agent Profile, or attach your current Profile to a new chat. Paste its complete text if attachment is unavailable.
Send the prompt and check the first question
Paste the prompt below into the conversation holding your profile. No edits are needed. The agent should read the profile, ask question 1 and wait.
Interview promptYou have my Agent Profile in this conversation. Interview me so you can improve it. The goal is a profile that lets you help me make good decisions and get real work done, not one that only describes what I do. Read what is already in the file. Find the gaps: the places where you would still have to guess how I decide something, what I will not accept, or where my authority stops. Do not re-ask anything the file already answers. Do not run the FIRST SETUP CHECK section now. Interview me instead. Ask me 12 questions, one at a time. Number them, so I can see how far through I am. Wait for my answer before you ask the next one. Never send me a list of questions. I may type or use dictation. Ask questions that invite a concrete example of a decision, its reason and any limits on my authority. Pull the useful rules out of my answer rather than expecting polished wording. If I ask to pause, stop and resume from that question when I return. Before each new question, tell me in one short paragraph how you would write my last answer into the profile, so I can correct you if you have it wrong. Do not ask for, or accept, passwords, credentials, protected customer information, private employee data, confidential financial details, or regulated information. If a useful question would need one of those, ask it a different way or skip it. Do not invent company, customer, employee, product, pricing, policy, or project facts. If you would have to guess, leave that line as it is. After my last answer, give me the complete updated Agent Profile as plain text I can copy. Keep the existing facts, section order and format unless I corrected them. Keep FIRST SETUP CHECK intact. Add sections where needed. Do not turn a preference into company policy or expand my authority. No preamble, and no interview questions in that output. After the profile, write a line that says CHANGES. Under it, list each section you added or changed, with one sentence on what changed and which of my answers it came from. Keep this list out of the profile itself. Start with your first question.
Talk through your answers with dictation
Dictate or type your answer
Dictation turns your speech into text in the message box. Use it on your phone or computer, or in your AI tool if available. After speaking, stop dictation and correct any misheard words before sending your answer. You can type whenever that suits you better.
Describe what happened, why you made the choice and any limits you had to work within. If you don't know an answer, say so or ask to skip it.
Check the recap before continuing
The agent should briefly explain what it would add to your profile before asking the next question. Check that the recap captures your reasoning and decision limits. If it turns a preference into company policy or gives you authority you don't have, ask it to correct that before continuing.
ChatGPT example: the recap preserves the project manager's approval limits, then asks question 2. Your wording will vary. Claude example: the recap preserves the project manager's approval limits, then asks question 2. Your wording will vary. Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat example: after a correction, the recap preserves routine scheduling authority and repeats question 2. Continue through the interview
Continue answering and checking the recaps through question 12. If you need a break, ask the agent to pause. When you return, use the same conversation and check its last recap and question number before resuming.
Review and save the complete updated profile
Get the complete updated profile
After the last answer, the agent should return the whole updated profile, followed by a CHANGES list of what it added or changed. If it gives only additions, ask for the complete document in the same conversation.
Compare it with your original
Start with the CHANGES list under the profile and check each change against what you said in the interview. Then read the updated profile alongside your original for anything else the agent added, changed or left out.
Back up and save your working file
In the folder where you keep your Agent Profile, save a dated backup of the old version. Then replace the text in your working profile with the reviewed text and save it. Leave the CHANGES list out of your file. Your tool's copy button copies the whole reply, so after you paste, delete the CHANGES line and everything under it.
Check the saved file and refresh other copies
Reopen the freshly updated agent file and check that the reviewed changes saved correctly and that no CHANGES list is left at the end.
If you also keep a profile in an agent or project, replace that copy before using it again. Keep the portable file as your master so you have one current version for any approved AI tool.
Try the profile on a real decision
Choose a real decision
Pick a choice where your priorities or decision limits matter, such as which of two requests to handle first when both are due today, or whether to send a project update now or wait for a missing fact. Use a choice you face now or expect to face again.
If you already have one, continue to Ask for a comparison in a fresh chat.
If you need help finding one, return to your interview conversation and send Find a decision to try below. No edits are needed. It will help you choose a decision and write a short note for the next chat. Check that the note describes your choice before copying it.
Find a decision to tryHelp me choose one real work decision for trying my updated Agent Profile. Use the profile and interview in this chat as background. Skip the profile's setup check. If the profile is missing, ask me to attach or paste it. Ask one short question at a time about a choice I face now or expect to face again. Offer two or three concrete possibilities suited to my work as numbered choices, plus “Something else / none of these.” Let me answer in my own words. Wait for me to confirm a suggestion. Ask up to three questions, stopping once I choose. If I already name a decision, skip discovery. If none fits after three questions, wait for my own idea or a request for more suggestions. Once I choose, write one short paragraph in my voice beginning “I need to decide.” Include any options I confirmed and relevant facts or constraints I supplied. Use only details I confirmed about this choice. Omit details I have not supplied rather than making a statement about them. Do not turn interview examples into current facts or invent deadlines or authority. Put only that note in one code block. Stop before comparing options or recommending a choice.
Ask for a comparison in a fresh chat
Open a fresh chat and attach or paste your saved Agent Profile. This lets you try the saved file without relying on the interview conversation.
In the same message, describe your decision, the options you are considering and the facts that matter. If you used the finder, paste its note here.
If the options are unclear, ask the agent to suggest two and check that they fit. Then ask: “Skip the profile setup check. Compare these options using my Agent Profile and only the facts I've supplied. Explain the trade-off and identify the profile rule behind your recommendation.”
Check the recommendation
Find the rule it names in your saved profile. Check that it applies to this choice and that the facts in the recommendation match what you supplied. Does the proposed action stay within your authority? Decide for yourself whether the recommendation fits.
Correct missing or misread facts
If the answer is generic or gets a fact wrong, check what is missing or misread. Add missing decision facts or point out the mismatch in the same chat, then check the corrected answer.
Update the profile if a reusable rule needs changing
Keep details that apply only to this decision in the conversation. Update your working profile when a reusable preference, decision rule or authority limit is missing or wrong. Save that edit, refresh any saved agent or project copy, and retry the same decision in a fresh chat with the corrected file. Check the result again. A correction left in a chat does not update your file.
Confirm your result

Final checks
Your reviewed Agent Profile is saved as the working version, with the previous version kept as a backup.
You can identify a saved decision rule that the agent used, and explain whether its recommendation fits your situation.
